CATS CEO John Lewis says part of the Lynx line won’t be open until mid-next week at the earliest.

The temporary bus bridge from I-485 will stop at the Scaleybark station. On the north end, the light rail will travel between the Sugar Creek station and UNC Charlotte.

They are having to shut down a different portion of the light rail each day to move along and make repairs.

CATS CEO John Lewis tweeted that CATS needs to replace more than one mile of power and communications lines and other equipment.

CATS is also working to get a few express buses that will go directly to Uptown during the morning and evening rush hours.

Supervisors are also being sent to both stations to help people figure out if they need a regular bus or express bus.

The Lynx Gold Line service is also suspended during the repairs and relying on bus service.
