BOONE, N.C. -- A new superstreet expected to reduce highway traffic is coming to Boone.

  • New superstreet will reduce delays and collisions
  • It will have bike lanes
  • A public hearing about the project will be at Caldwell Community College Tuesday

The Department of Transportation has released its plans to build the superstreet on N.C. 105. NCDOT says a superstreet traffic pattern reduces delays and collisions by eliminating the need for left turns. The superstreet will also include a center divide and bike lanes.

There will be a public hearing about the project at Caldwell Community College at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
