CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Medical details of the exam Kevin Olsen’s accuser went through at the hospital were dug into during court Wednesday.

  • Taneika Torres performed Kevin Olsen’s former girlfriend’s exam
  • A laceration found inside her deemed inconclusive
  • A special dye highlighted the injury proving it happened several hours beforehand

Taneika Torres spent the majority of Wednesday on the stand. She’s a sexual assault nurse examiner with Atrium Health and the one who performed Kevin Olsen’s former girlfriend’s exam at the hospital. A laceration found inside her was inconclusive.

She was questioned if the injury came from anything sexual.

“Right, I have no way of knowing that,” she said.

A special dye that was highlighted proved to Torres the injury happened 12 to 24 hours beforehand.  Post-direct examination, defense attorney George Laughrun took his time to question Torres’ educational history and her certifications.

Amanda Blain, a crime scene technician with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, also took the stand. She was in training at the time when Olsen came in to police headquarters.

Seeing how Laughrun checked on Torres’ resume, one can assume he will look at the rest of the state’s witnesses with equal scrutiny as he works on this case for his client.
