CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Our flow of wind is kicking around to an east and then a northeasterly direction today and tonight, and the result is some cooler weather for our Sunday and especially Monday.

  • Highs today will only be in the 60s in the mountains with lots of clouds and some showers likely.
  • In the piedmont, highs will be in the 70s today near the I-40 corridor and lower 80s around the Charlotte metro.
  • Monday will be even cooler in many areas. Look for some 60s again in the High Country with piedmont highs in the 70s.

We warm up a bit Tuesday, and then another cold front will bring good shower and storm chances Wednesday and Thursday. Following that front, at this point the upcoming weekend looks great with lower humidity and pleasant temperatures.

Tropics...

Kirk is in the far eastern Atlantic and will likely remain fairly weak. The system could be in the eastern Caribbean by mid-week.
