CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- It has been two years since the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott by a Charlotte police officer and two local groups are fighting back against gun violence and the still lingering tension in the city.

Kyle Goodson’s 16 year old son, Gregory, was shot and killed thirteen years ago. She has made it her mission to stop gun violence by creating the group 'Not One More'.

Not One More held a rally Saturday and is planning a forum for young men in the spring.

The Charlotte chapter of the NAACP also held a Day of Unity. The first Unity Day was created in the wake of Keith Lamont Scott’s death to try and unify Charlotte.

Saturday's event included classes on racial bias and conflict resolution.

Minister Corine Mack, President of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County NAACP said "Each one of us has the responsibility to do something different and so today we've made a decision, a conscious decision to love, despite what is going on in this country."

Uprising and Uplifting: A Day of Unity ended the day with a free concert.
