IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A man in Iredell County has been arrested on numerous charges, including Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.

  • Elmer Grose, 62, was arrested on multiple charges
  • Officials say he threatened to kill someone and hit them in the head with his shotgun.
  • He was placed under a $25,000 bond. 

Authorities were called to East Lackey Farm Road in the western part of the county where an assault was in progress.

They say Elmer Grose, 62, was involved in a verbal argument with someone and threatened to kill him, getting a shotgun from his vehicle at some point. Grose hit the victim in the head with the shotgun.

He was taken into custody at the scene.

Grose was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, placed under a $25,000 bond.

Other charges include misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun and misdemeanor communicating threats.
