RALEIGH, N.C. – The State Supreme Court has handed down a ruling Tuesday denying Gov. Roy Cooper’s office a temporary restraining order against two of the proposed constitutional amendments that will appear on this fall’s ballot.

  • The State Supreme Court denied Gov. Cooper's request for a temporary restraining order on two proposed amendments for the fall ballots.
  • The amendments will appear on the ballot.
  • The merits of the case could still be heard by a lower court later.

This was the latest effort by the governor to stop the questions from going on the ballot, saying they were written in a biased and deceptive manner.

The merits of the case could still be heard by a lower court at a future time.
