CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The same basic weather setup remains in place over the next couple of days. Warm and humid conditions remain around the region, and thus muggy air will lend itself to the development of some scattered showers and storms today into early this evening.

  • Piedmont highs today will be close to 90 with mountain highs in the upper 70s
  • For Labor Day, warm and humid weather continues with a few afternoon storms possible
  • Do not expect much in the way of day to day weather changes this week

Piedmont highs today will be close to 90 with mountain highs in the upper 70s.

For Labor Day, warm and humid weather continues with a few afternoon storms possible. Highs will remain close to 90 in the piedmont and in the upper 80s for the High Country.

Do not expect much in the way of day to day weather changes this week. The same setup continues.... warm and humid with a few storms.

Tropics...

Florence remains in the eastern Atlantic and the most likely eventual scenario remains a northward turn that keeps the system out to sea, at least for the next week or so.

A tropical disturbance over the Bahamas today will get into the Gulf by Tuesday. At that time, there is the potential for that to spin up into a classified system.

Overall, I expect the tropics to become much more active over the next couple of weeks as we head toward mid-September.
