CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial ending of summer in the minds of many folks but we still have summertime weather continuing around the region.

  • Heat and humidity will continue all through the holiday weekend
  • We will continue to have the chance of a few showers and storms
  • The heat and humidity continue all of next week and the chance of a few storms will remain

Heat and humidity will continue all through the holiday weekend. Piedmont highs will be in the low to mid 90s today and then top out near 90 Sunday and Labor Day. Up in the mountains, highs will remain near 80.

We will continue to have the chance of a few showers and storms, primarily from mid-afternoon into early evening.

The heat and humidity continue all of next week and the chance of a few storms will remain with us as well.

Tropics...

There's a disturbance approaching the Bahamas today that will head into the Gulf of Mexico next week. Overall development chances are low, but we will watch it.

All of the way on the other side of the Atlantic is where you will find Tropical Storm Florence. The most likely eventual outcome for Florence is a turn to the north prior to threatening the US but we will watch it closely through next week.
