CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- No one was hurt after shots were fired on the grounds of Villa Heights Elementary School in Charlotte Thursday morning.

A CMPD spokesperson confirmed to Spectrum News that a mother was dropping her children off at the school when a male suspect she was in a relationship with fired “more than one” round while the woman was on school grounds. Police say some shell casings were recovered.

 

 

 

 

 

 
 

 

The mother was able to leave the scene and call 911.

The school was placed under lockdown due to the police activity.
