CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The family of Keith Scott plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the police department.

Scott was shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer in September 2016, sparking protests and riots.
The district attorney ruled that the shooting was justified.
The Scott family's attorney has said the family has been unable to resolve the issue with the department and that he plans to file the suit in the coming days.
