After a muggy weekend, expect a muggy Monday. Scattered storms will be possible Monday afternoon and evening.

A cold front should move across our area late Tuesday night. Ahead of the boundary, storms Tuesday could pack a bit of a wallop. Once the boundary has departed to the east, and out, we'll start drying out.

With high pressure arriving, the middle of the week, we expect sunshine and dry air; cooler temperatures as well. We may get a taste of "fall" with overnight lows in the upper 50s Friday morning for the Piedmont. Mountain counties may see morning lows in the upper 40s.

Mountain counties are back in school Monday. So, some caution around schools and neighborhoods. Most metro region schools don't start until the 28th. For those kids, enjoy your last week of Summer break!
