CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A man is recovering after police say he was shot in the buttock in a Charlotte parking lot Saturday morning. 

  • A man was shot in a parking lot in Uptown Charlotte early Saturday morning.
  • Police say the victim and the shooter were both exchanging fire.
  • The victim was shot in the buttock.

Police say it happened around 2:30 a.m. in a parking lot located at 4th & Brevard Street.

They say both the victim and the suspect were reported shooting at one another. 

The victim, who has been identified as Tony Davis, 32, was shot and ran to the Hilton on E. 3rd Street. 

He treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Once released from the hospital, Davis was charged with Possession of Cocaine that was found in his possession during the investigation and transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. 

Detectives are investigating what led up to the shooting.
