MATTHEWS, N.C. -- A man has been arrested, accused of impersonating a police officer.

Matthews police say 35-year-old Patrick Heib came up to a woman inside a gas station on East John Street last Thursday and claimed to be a police investigator.

The victim told police Heib wasn't wearing a police uniform and didn't have any badge or identification, but Heib did have on tactical style pants and had a holstered gun on his waistband.

The victim asked Heib for identification proving he was an officer twice, but Heib refused.
