REIDSVILLE, N.C. -- Members of a Reidsville family say a police officer shot and killed their dog.

  • A Reidsville family says a police officer shot their dog, Auger.
  • They say shots were fired toward bystanders at the department impound lot and Auger was hit. 
  • Police say they are treating it like any other use of force case. 

The Paschal family says the officer shot an Australian cattle dog, Auger, a week ago.

 

Reidsville police say they're looking into the incident from Aug. 7 involving Officer Glen Wade at the department's impound lot.

The family says several shots were fired in the direction of bystanders.

Reidsville police say they're taking this seriously like any other use of force case.

They say they'll make everything public once their investigation is complete.
