RALEIGH, N.C. -- A police chase and officer-involved shooting caused heavy traffic and a heavy police presence on Western Boulevard in Raleigh Monday evening.

Police located a blue GMC that had been reported stolen from the 1000 block of North King Charles Road.

As they attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled and one of the officers fired his weapon on the scene.

The driver was not struck by any rounds and the car continued on the chase but crashed on Western Boulevard.

Officials say the driver was taken to WakeMed to be treated.

There were no details on any other injuries, the condition of the driver or the police officers involved.
