TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. -- Alexander Correctional Institution is on lockdown.
- Two inmate-on-inmate assaults took place at Alexander Correctional Institution.
- Two inmates were taken to the hospital.
- A correctional officer was injured.
On Sunday, the State Department of Public Safety says there were two inmate-on-inmate assaults at the prison in Taylorsville.
Two inmates were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
A third incident injured a correctional officer but those injuries were not serious.
It's unclear how long they will remain on lockdown.
All of the incidents are still under investigation.
