GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Our Wednesday featured a big round of showers and storms around the region. Many of those storms yesterday were strong to severe with lots of damaging wind reports around the area.

  • The storm chance will decrease for Thursday.
  • There is still the opportunity for one or two showers, but most will remain dry.
  • The prior weather pattern will return for the weekend.

The overall setup today, however, is a different one. There's been a big decrease in the amount of atmospheric moisture for most of North Carolina, and that will mean a big decrease in the amount of showers and storms today. While I can't rule out one or two afternoon showers or storms, the vast majority of us will remain dry today with highs in the upper 80s.

I still think rain chances are fairly low for Friday, but then scattered showers and storms will return for the weekend with highs in the 80s.
