GREENSBORO, N.C. -- We had a few severe storms rumble through the region yesterday afternoon and then deep into yesterday evening following a hot and humid Tuesday.

Our Wednesday setup is very much the same. Highs will top out in the 90-93 degree range for many in the area, and it will be a very muggy day. That heat and humidity will then lead to the development of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and into this evening. Similar to yesterday, a few storms will likely produce some damaging gusts of wind, and any storm is capable of producing vivid cloud to ground lightning.

Slightly drier air will then slip in here for tomorrow and Friday, and our rain chance now looks very low for both of those days.

Moisture will gather again as we head through the weekend, and scattered storms will return.
