CHARLOTTE, N.C -- Heavy rain and strong storms brought down trees and even started fires across Charlotte Monday night, leaving a lot left to clean up.

On Doverdale Lane and Farmhurst Drive, a homeowner's two cars were pinned under a tree.

Another downed tree fell on a car near Queens University, while another fell on a Jeep on The Plaza near Belvedere Avenue.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in either incident.

Firefighters also say lightning strikes could be the cause of a house fire in Huntersville.

In south Charlotte, police say they're waiting on Duke Energy crews to repair those downed power lines.
