RALEIGH, N.C. -- The N.C. Department of Revenue is experiencing a computer problem that has resulted in an interruption of some services at license plate agencies across the state.

  • The service interruption is also affecting select DMV online vehicle registration services
  • State Department of Revenue officials estimate it could be several hours before the problem is corrected

Officials at NCDOR said the problem is with computers used to process vehicle tax payments at NCDMV license plate agencies, resulting in an interruption of service providing license plates and renewal stickers.

The service interruption is also affecting selected DMV online vehicle registration services. Drivers license offices across the state and online driver services are not affected by the interruption.

State Department of Revenue officials estimate it could be several hours before the problem is corrected.
