DURHAM, N.C. -- The death of a developer from Durham has been declared a homicide. 

  • William Bishop's death has been declared a homicide.
  • Bishop was found strangled in his home in April.
  • No suspects/arrests announced. 

William Leslie Bishop, 59, was found strangled in his home in April.

Evidence collected from the scene, including reports from Bishop's 16-year-old son, initially indicated that the death may have been a suicide due to strangulation using a dog leash.

However, the State Medical Examiner's Office has released Bishop's autopsy, declaring the cause of death as a homicide, citing hemorrhages, fractures, and marks consistent with murder.

No suspects or arrests have been announced at this time.
