GREENSBORO, N.C. -- A group called Action Greensboro is hoping that if young people knew the city a little better, they'd want to stay.

That's the idea driving the "Night on the Downtown" scavenger hunt for college students interning in the Gate City.

The hunt sent them out to more than 40 locations around the town, from public parks and facilities to downtown businesses, to see what the city has to offer.

"A kit if times they're stuck in their campus bubble and don't really get out of that, even though they live in Greensboro," said Lizzy Tahsuda of Opportunity Greensboro. "We're trying to expose them to places in the city that they may have never visited before. Ideally it's kind of a retention tool post-graduation."

There are 114 student in the Opportunity Greensboro Fellows Program this year.

They're working on professional development, leadership skills and community engagement.
