Re-enactors of the First North Carolina volunteers gave visitors first hand look at a soldier's lifestyle, the musket drills and artillery demonstrations.

Through this event, re-enactors hope to keep history alive for generations to come.

Visitors say experiencing it gives them a new perspective.

"It's one thing to sit in class and read about it but to come out here and see the re-enactors, it's a more hands on experience," said Cub Scout Master Brandon Moore.
