Rain chances will increase by the end of the weekend and for the start of the workweek.

The weather across much of eastern North Carolina was actually pretty nice on Saturday. After low pressure lifted north of the area and the showers came to an end.

Through the night, we'll see some clouds and there is a chance for isolated showers and a few rumbles of thunder during the overnight hours.

Sunday will start with a few clouds and maybe, a few showers. By Sunday afternoon, the chance for showers and isolated thunderstorms will increase.

The flow of moisture will increase across the region by Monday and Tuesday, and that will make for a better chance for showers and thunderstorms for the start of the workweek.

In the tropics, tropical storm formation is not expected for the next 3 to 5 days.
