BURLINGTON, N.C. -- Burlington police and fire officials responded to a call about a reported shooting at Thipps Cafe early Sunday morning.

• A shooting occurred at Thipps Cafe Sunday morning.
• Javonta Woods, 27, suffered a serious head injury. 
• Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (336) 229-7100. 

Investigators say they responded just after 1 a.m. and when they arrived they found 27-year-old Javonta Woods suffering from a serious head injury.

Woods was taken to a trauma center and is in critical condition.

Surrounding agencies were called in to help control the crowd.
