CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Sunday was the finale of the 2018 World Cup, with a face-off between France and Croatia.

Charlotte soccer fans were able to watch the game while also learning about French culture. 

Sunday was also the 2nd annual Charlotte French Festival. The festival highlights French food, music, and artists. 

Soccer fans came out in full force to watch the World Cup. 

People from France say this was the perfect setting to watch the game, because it felt like home, and united a community. 

"Soccer just unites people, even if you don't cheer for the team that's playing, just being able to watch good futbol is nice for your emotions," says Magloire Akoumany, a French soccer fan. 

"It's the magic of sport. Everyone is going to see the game together. Together, there is no people who fall apart or separate people, it's really great," says Ali Dabo.

This is France's second World Cup victory. The first one was exactly 20 years ago in 1998.
