CONCORD, N.C. -- Concord police are investigating a carjacking and sexual assault after involving an Archdale man who is facing several serious charges.

  • Concord police say Dustin Bowman carjacked and sexually assaulted a woman.
  • He allegedly forced her into her car at a QuikTrip gas station.
  • Another woman was in the car with Bowman, and she has not been charged.

They say Dustin Bowman forced a 46-year-old woman into her car at the QuikTrip on George W. Liles Parkway in Concord, forcing her into the passenger seat and driving off.

The victim says she was sexually assaulted before being left with her car on the side of the road on Interstate 85 in Archdale.

Bowman and an acquaintance, Laura Fleming, wrecked their car the day before on I-85 and were dropped off at the gas station where the victim was kidnapped.

He was arrested at his home in Archdale Tuesday night on charges including kidnapping, sex offense and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Fleming has not been charged and officials are still sorting out what role she may have played.
