Hurricane Chris rapidly intensified late Tuesday to a catagory 2 storm. The good news is it is now moving rapidly northeast and is expected to continue to do so. That will take the storm into the colder water of the north Atlantic where it will weaken by Friday. Big surf and rip currents will continue so be safe at area beaches. If you're staying home, stay cool. Highs will be in the middle 90s today with a Heat Index around 100. Ozone levels are up as well so many of us are under an Air Quality Alert. A cold front moves in tonight with a storm chance that will continue through Thursday.
