CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte is one of the final contenders to host the 2020 Republican National Convention, which is sparking conversation among city council members.

Just days after some of his Democratic colleagues expressed concern about being the host city, Republican council member Tariq Bokhari shared his full support in a Facebook post saturday saying it is a chance to highlight Charlotte's inclusitivity.

The host city will be decided when the Republican National Committee meets in Austin later in July.
