STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Police have arrested eight more people in connection to a January murder in Statesville.

• Seven are charged with murder. One is charged with accessory after the fact.
• The arrests are connected to the death of Freeman Wells.
• Eleven have been charged overall in the murder. 

The Special Violent Crimes Team served warrants to the suspects Friday morning and now seven face murder charges. The eighth is charged with accessory after the fact.

All the arrests are connected to the shooting death of Freeman Wells on Jan. 6. 

Police already arrested three other people for Wells’ murder, bringing the total to 11 people charged.
