CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two men accused of robbing and killing a college student in Charlotte appeared in court Thursday.

  • Jahzion Wilson and Demonte McCain appeared in court.
  • They are accused of robbing and killing Zachary Finch.
  • After Finch's murder, CMPD set up exchange zones at QuikTrip stores for those ordering things online or through an app.

Zachary Finch was attacked last year after he was trying to pick up a phone  he bought through the app, Let Go.

When he went to meet the sellers, police say a group of three men robbed and killed him. Two of those men were in court.

Jahzion Wilson pleaded not guilty, despite asking for a continuance to study for a test. Demonte McCain, 18, however, was a given a two week continuance.

Finch was just 21 years old when he was killed last summer.

He was about to start his senior year at the University of Cumberlands in Kentucky.

After this happened, last summer, CMPD set up parking spots or exchange zones at 14 QuikTrip gas stations in Charlotte, which serve as safe spots for people who buy something online to meet the seller.

McCain will be back in court on June 28.
