LEXINGTON, N.C. – Davidson County voters will face a decision in November on a multi-million dollar bond package.
- $11 million in improvements to the county's existing facilities
- $30 million dollars for renovations to the county's three school systems
- Proposal for a $40 million sports complex
The plan includes $11 million in improvements to the county's existing facilities, including schools, parks and a new sports complex.
"It’ll include bathrooms, ballfields, lighting, trails, those kinds of things," said Casey Smith, Davidson County’s Assistant County Manager.
There's also a proposal for a $40 million sports complex, which should attract baseball and other tournaments.
Smith says it should have some long-term benefits for the county.
"For a lot of families the idea is they'd have to have somewhere to stay, lodge and eat. It would create more of those businesses," said Smith.
There's also $30 million dollars for renovations to the county's three school systems, including roofs and HVAC systems.
The county is scheduled to have a public hearing on the bonds on Aug. 14.
