RALEIGH, N.C. -- The North Carolina Senate Thursday afternoon voted to override Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of the state's spending plan.

Lawmakers voted 34 to 13 to override that veto.

The move comes just one day after Cooper's veto announcement.

Cooper had concerns over funding for teacher pay, raises for state employees and addressing GenX in the Cape Fear River.

House lawmakers are also expected to take a vote to override the veto on Tuesday.
