NEW YORK CITY -- ABC Networks has canceled the reboot of 90's sitcom Roseanne after a string of racially insensitive tweets Monday night.
In the now-deleted tweets Roseanne compared former Obama adviser, Valerie Jarrett, to an "ape" and attacked Chelsea Clinton calling her "Chelsea Soros Clinton."
Comedian Wanda Sykes, a producer for the show, quit earlier in the day.
Co-star Sara Gilbert also spoke out against Barr this morning, saying her views were not shared with those who also work on set.
In a statement released by ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey, the network says:
"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show."
Barr apologized Tuesday morning, saying she was leaving Twitter.
