DURHAM, N.C. -- One person is dead after being thrown from a dirt pike Sunday morning.

• Happened on W. Club Blvd.
• Deceased was riding on back of dirt bike
• Dirt bike driver in critical condition

Officials say it happened on W. Club Blvd. after 4:30 a.m.

Driver Kate Loughlin was hit by William Lorenzo, Jr. while driving his dirt bike.

Zaena Graham was riding on the back of the dirt bike when her and Lorenzo were thrown from it. Neither of them were wearing helmets.

Graham was pronounced dead at the hospital, and Lorenzo is in critical condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
