Our hot dry weather pattern continues through Monday with only a slight chance for a late day thunderstorm.

  • Fayetteville hit record temperatures Saturday
  • Record highs are also possible on Sunday
  • Possible chance of a thunderstorm Monday

Ample sunshine for Saturday helped push afternoon highs into the low 90s for most of the region with mid 80s the rule along the immediate coast. Fayetteville hit 96 degrees breaking the previous record of 95 set back in 2000.

We could see some record highs tied or broken for Mother’s Day as we see little change in the weather pattern and forecast. Expect hazy sunshine and highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. More of the same for Monday.

A wet weather pattern is in the making for the rest of the work week into next weekend.  Afternoon highs will cool down a little with the clouds and rain, but will still be running a little above normal levels.
