We had a healthy round of showers and storms rumbles through the region yesterday afternoon and evening. Some of those storms were severe, and there were a good number of wind and hail reports across the region.
- Isolated storms possible.
- Temperatures will break 90 on Saturday and Sunday.
- Unsettled weather pattern comes next week.
Some isolated storms are possible today, mainly from mid afternoon into early evening. However, I expect the showers and storms to be fewer in number in comparison to yesterday.
Heat will become the big weather story for Mother's Day weekend. Through the Piedmont, highs today will reach into the upper 80s to near 90, and then many spots will break 90 Saturday. Sunday will likely be even hotter with low and mid 90s likely. Even the mountains will get pretty warm with weekend highs around 80 or so.
Next week, the pattern gets more unsettled with good daily storm chances on the way, especially Tuesday onward.
