WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Pentagon released its findings Thursday in its investigation in to the Niger attack that left four Fort Bragg soldiers dead.

  • DOD has released a video animation of the attack that killed four Fort Bragg soldiers in Niger last October.
  • Report found that lack of training and preparation lead to the deadly attack.

Staff Sgt. Bryan C. Black, Staff Sgt. Jeremiah W. Johnson, Staff Sgt. Dustin M. Wright, and Sgt. La David T. Johnson were killed in October in an ambush lead by Islamic extremists.

DOD officials interviewed 143 witnesses and watched hundreds of hours of video before releasing its report.

The report found that lack of training and preparation lead to the deadly attack.

In response, the Pentagon has listed several corrective measures for any future missions in that region. Those include enhanced security posture and equipment.
