RALEIGH -- Singer R. Kelly is the latest target of the "Time's Up" movement, as radio station, Radio One in Raleigh, is mulling the idea of pulling his music from the airwaves.

  • Radio One in Raleigh is considering pulling R. Kelly from their playlists.
  • #MuteRKelly has gained momentum on Twitter.
  • R. Kelly has been accused of sexual misconduct on multiple occasions.

Kelly has faced sexual abuse and assault allegations for decades, but now there's a renewed push to pull support for the three-time Grammy award-winning artist.

"Whether we will mute R. Kelly's music or not, that is a decision that is being made today," said Radio One Show Host Karen Clark.

#MuteRKelly has become a popular movement on social media, in the fallout of the Bill Cosby trial, the Harvey Weinstein saga, and other sexual abuse and assault allegations involving high profiled entertainment figures.

Radio One isn't the first entity to look at this issue. Syndicated morning radio host Tom Joyner has vowed to no longer play R. Kelly's music and the University of Illinois in Chicago recently cancelled a Kelly performance there.

Kelly responded to the recent backlash, Friday, in a statetment. It reads in part the media "has dissected and manipulated these false allegations" in an "attempt to distort my character and to destroy my legacy that i have worked so hard to build."

As of Friday afternoon, Radio One had not made a decision about whether or not to pull R. Kelly's music.
