CHERRY POINT, N.C. -- This year’s Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Air Show is only a few days away. But the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels are already taking to the skies over Havelock.

Wednesday, two civilians from the Havelock community got a chance to ride shotgun on one of the jets.

It’s all part of the Blue Angels key influencers flight, which is a program that chooses participants based on community and youth involvement.

This year’s recipients in include a high school football coach and a firefighter. They said the 45 minute flight is an experience they’ll never forget.

“It was the ride of your life man. It really was a lot of fun. It’s just incredible, I mean the way they are able to turn and move and everything like that,” said Caleb King.

You can catch the Blue Angels in action this weekend at Cherry Point.

The air show and parking is free.
