KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- Students at Fred L. Wilson Elementary School are about to be global learning stars.

  • School chosen because of new global curriculum
  • Students are also learning about Irish culture
  • Company will spend two weeks in the U.S.

The school was one of five chosen in North Carolina to make videos about a new global curriculum implemented in the school this year. Along with that, the Irish Production Crew is teaching them a little about their culture along the way.

The producers were hired for Chapel Hill based company Participate, which promotes global studies education in schools worldwide.

“I think the best thing for our students is that they are going to become global citizens,” says Principal Mandi Campbell. “But they will also become highly marketable knowing multiple languages, but really just providing more opportunities for our students is the best part about it.”

The crew will continue their work at Fred L. Wilson Thursday.

In total, they will spend two weeks in the United States.
