CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- After starting the weekend with sunshine and very warm weather, we're going to end the weekend with sunshine and slightly cooler weather.

On Saturday, we enjoyed lots of sunshine with warm afternoon highs.  A cold front moved across North Carolina late Saturday afternoon into early Sunday morning.  The front produced only a few clouds as is passed through the state.  However, behind the front, slight cooler high pressure is building into the area.  This will set the stage for more sunshine on Sunday but it will also set us up for cooler temperatures.

Skies will remain clear tonight with chilly overnight lows into early Monday.

This high will settle closer to the area on Monday and we should see slightly warmer highs by Monday afternoon.

With the high expected to be off the Carolina coast by Tuesday, the combination of sunshine and south to southwesterly winds will start a significant warm-up for the area.  This warming trend will continue for most of this week.
