CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two days of rainy weather have left behind some damage throughout the Charlotte area.

Flooding is impacting the foothills and also affected parts of Charlotte Tuesday night. Meanwhile, the soggy ground has caused some trees to fall.

Crews were out Wednesday morning working hard to get it remedied quickly.

One of the downed trees was on Avalon Avenue near Tuckaseegee Road and Interstate 85 in a very wooded neighborhood, and another one on Rumple Road in northeast Charlotte.

An oak tree crushed a Ford Escape in a Rowan County family's driveway and damaged a pick-up truck.

"It was just an initial reaction of shock to see this tree that was so large down across the yard and over the vehicles," homeowner Matthew Losh said. "We didn't expect this storm to produce something like that."

He says nobody was hurt when it happened.

Crews hope to get the downed trees up and power restored throughout the day.
