She was killed after a car hit her while she was riding on the Booty Loop.

Now they're calling for safety changes.

Charlotte Cycles Shop Manager Ryan Sandy says most of the Booty Loop doesn't have an actual bike lane which poses a risk for cyclists who put their safety in the hands of drivers.

He wants to see a divider added and for drivers to make sure they pay attention.

"Stay off your cell phone, minimize your distractions in your vehicle. No matter where you are at there is going to be a cyclist riding," he said.

CMPD says Stranick was wearing a helmet.

The driver was charged with failure to yield the right of way and misdemeanor death by vehicle.
