RALEIGH, N.C. -- Raleigh continues to grow at a rapid pace and now there's a new part of town that will soon draw new business and a much sought after grocery store to the area.

  • The project will feature North Carolina's first Wegmans.
  • At least two new restaurants will be included.
  • The shopping center is slated to open in 2019.

Midtown East will be located on Wake Forest Road near the Beltline.

Regency Centers is behind the project which will feature a new 120,000 square foot Wegmans, a 700 car parking deck and nearly two dozen store fronts with it.

More retailers are expected to sign on board.
