An actress well-known to fans of the TV show "Smallville" is under arrest in connection with an alleged upstate sex cult.

Allison Mack was arrested in her Brooklyn apartment Friday morning and faces sex trafficking and conspiracy charges.

She is accused of recruiting females for the cult, known as NXIVM, that was led by her co-defendant Keith Raniere.

Last month, the FBI raided the Saratoga County home that the cult allegedly operated out of.

Mack allegedly forced the women under her control to engage in sexual acts with Raniere.

Prosecutors say she also starved and branded the women with his initials.

She's facing a minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted.

The judge deemed her a flight risk and denied her bail.

Stanley Zareff, a friend of one of the victims, says she did a lot of damage.

"I want to see her put away," Zareff said. "She's dangerous. She's sick. She's evil. She's dark. And she's done harm to many people."

Raniere was arrested last month in Mexico on charges of sex trafficking and forced labor.
