CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools student is being treated for minor injuries after being "grazed" by a car at a bus stop Tuesday morning.

CMS officials say the car's side mirror hit the student while they walked to a stopped school bus at Kimmerly Glen Lane and Keyway Boulevard near east W.T. Harris Boulevard. School leaders say the bus had its safety arm out and lights on.

The accident comes weeks after an Olympic High School student was killed walking to her bus. Friday, CMS announced safety changes moving all bus stops to the right side of Youngblood Road.

The district is reminding drivers to follow the laws around school buses and bus stops for the safety of everyone.
