The building sold to a New York based real estate company for $4.7 million on April 2, sparking frantic rumors that the doughnut shop may close in order to be redeveloped.

According to official Wake County documents, however, Krispy Kreme sold two parcels of land to Broadstone Real Estate but signed a 20 year lease with the company.
