The city's public school students are heading back to class Monday and the new schools chancellor will be on hand to welcome some kids back to the classroom in the Bronx.

Richard Carranza officially started his new job last Monday.

His first stop Monday morning is Concourse Village Elementary School.

Then he's expected to tour Bronx Community College with high school and middle school students.

After that, Carranza will join Mayor Bill de Blasio for a speech at PS 25, the Bilingual School.

He's set to finish his day by throwing out the first pitch at a varsity baseball game between the James Monroe and George Washington High Schools.
